I first took up
photography seriously about 20 years ago, on receiving an
Olympus OM1 for my 21st birthday. While initially I
photographed 'anything that moved', I eventually decided
to concentrate on landscapes. Early influences included
Ansel Adams, Fay Godwin, John Davies, John Blakemore, and
Derry Brabbs, whose 'James Herriot's Yorkshire' photos got
me interested in colour landscape photography.
I set up my web
site, (http://www.first-contact.demon.co.uk),
early in 1997, as an easy way of getting my photos seen
around the World, and have been very surprised at the
level of interest generated. The majority of the photos on
the site are cycle racing photos, many taken on my annual
visits to the Tour de France. I am now, however concentrating more
on the landscapes section.
