A professional photographer is very often responsible for recording images of an event that can not be repeated; invariably, under a great deal of pressure. This is one of the fundamental reasons why they have been commissioned in the first instance. The client rightly expects to receive images of the highest possible quality from that professional. A quick note to say thank you to your staff for the great job you did with my first consignment of films. The quality had blown me away (though I've been less than impressed by my own mistakes, in one or two cases!). It's truly astonishing that among the films there are various razor-sharp 6x9 and 6x6 slides and films from several cameras dating from the 30's, 40's and 50's, though my main film cameras are refurbished Pentacon Sixes.

Just a sincere word of thanks for my first order which arrived extremely well packed in just under a week from upload to my door. Considering the prints were 30x20 inches, mounted and laminated, this was a fast turnaround. If this is how it is, then so be it! The quality was even better and way above my expectations (and I am very fussy). To risk an expensive order like this on a new-to-me service was probably foolhardy, but i need not have worried as colour balance was perfect and matched my own calibrated monitor and printer / paper / inks, but the pictures I received had something else, dare I say it, a film-like quality. A nice surprise for a digital workflow.

It's not often I'm moved to praise a service but your digital submission service (Peak Online) with its dedicated upload software is very impressive. I'm not a digital user usually and just wanted a few prints of images of a family party that a guest had emailed me. The ease of download of the software, speed of upload and delivery and quality of prints were impressive. It's enough to make a chap consider giving up film, or at least buying a decent scanner!

Just a quick note to say thank you for my latest order.

This was a test print for a possible new method of making portfolio prints. I sent you a digital file (drum scanned from 4x5 inch for best quality then resized with a white border and sharpened for print). I asked you to produce a 20x16 digital print, mounted on card and laminated.

I deliberately selected an image with lots of fine shadow detail and subtle variations of colour, usually the first things to suffer in an inferior print. The resulting print exceeded my expectations and can only be described as stunning. Tack sharp and chock full of fine detail. Even more impressive are colour and density, for all practical purposes a perfect match to my original file, showing that you clearly have your ICC colour management very well adjusted.

The mounting and laminating also work extremely well. The laminating, in particular, is very unobtrusive, detracting very little from the appearance of the print, but greatly improving its resistance to handling - a major consideration for portfolio prints.

All in all, I am very impressed and in due will be sending you a larger batch of files for the same treatment. In the meantime please pass on my thanks and appreciation to your printers. At the same time I should probably thank the guys who do my film processing. You have done all my processing for the past few years and it has been consistently superb, fast, reliable and competitively priced.

My name is Breken Hornby and I'm a qualified Photography Teacher who has been taking photographs for the past twenty years on all formats from 110 to 5x4 cameras.

During summer last year I tried my own photography laboratory tests using all sorts of different labs around the country using both amateur and professional D&P packages. I can wholeheartedly say that without a shadow of a doubt, that you are the best quality laboratory this country has to offer.

The quality of your "professional" 35mm packages is superb, and as for the 30x20 enlargements I have received they are just unbelievable, in both sharpness and colour. Without being big-headed when people see the work that I have produced for them they also cannot believe the quality of the prints. I always tell them where I got the prints from, and I strongly urge them to use you if they care about their images as well.

As for your staff, Alison, Amanda and Zac are always extremely helpful and polite when I call and will bend over backwards to help with my enquiry.

Once again Mr Gledhill thank you for providing a magnificent, quality service, and I won't trust anyone else with my precious memories. Long may your success continue.

The colour saturation, sharpness and life in the pictures is fantastic, previous to me using yourselves I had sent an identical make of film, from the same holiday, to a local processing lab. When I received the results, I couldn't believe how washed out, lifeless and dull the prints were, I was beginning to think the camera / lens or my abilities were at fault. So thank you again for a quality product and keep up the good work!

I have just received back a roll of Ilford FP4 125 and just thought I'd drop you a line to say what a cracking job your printers have done on them. I usually stay away from black and white mainly because to have them hand printed is too expensive and black and white film that is machine printed onto stock film is more often than not totally rubbish.

Films I had developed in the past came back with horrible yellow/green colour cast and muddy washed out colours. When I got the film back off Peak Imaging I was pleased to say the least. These were true black and white prints. The blacks were black and not just a shade of dark grey! The whites were white and not just a shade light grey! Colour cast? What colour cast?

These prints are as near as you can get to hand printed. Fantastic job. It looks like I'll be stocking up on black and white film again!

I’ve been using Peak on a regular basis for just over a year and the consistent high quality of your printing compared to my previous “so called professional lab” just knocks me out.  Clean negatives, biting sharpness, and accurate colours.  I note that turnaround times slipped somewhat during September but I am pleased to report that they are now back to normal.

Recently I returned some slides that had a fibre mark ingrained on them.  The mark was found to be caused by a fibre in my camera, rather than a fault of the processing.  Nevertheless, one of your members of staff called Dean, was kind enough to send me some old style mounts.  Using these, I was able to remount the transparencies and obscure the mark.  I was particularly pleased because the slides were of great value to me."
