Coates is a keen photographer who lists landscape work as his primary
interest, followed by close-up work on flora and fungi. He uses
a Pentax Z1p system and favours Fuji Velvia for landscapes and Provia
for his natural history work. His favourite locations are the Lake
District and the Yorkshire Dales.
Dave is an associate of the Royal Photographic Society and the holder

is clearly a busy man being secretary of the Northallerton Camera
Club and also secretary of the Northern Counties Photographic Federation.
